Muscle (Repetitive) Strain Injuries M(R)SI is a collective name for impairments like Frozen Shoulder, Tennis Elbow, Tendinitis, Low Back Pain and syndromes related to these conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Sciatica etc. It is a well known fact among doctors that most backaches are related to muscle and soft tissue strain around vertebrae. Finding the proper treatment can help up to 80-85% of all low back backaches. The pain in such conditions appeared because of entrapment of pain receptors inside or between swollen and inflamed muscles. The usual solution for the problem is painkillers, muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatory and physiotherapy and massage. Unfortunately each of them has a limited ability to heal the injury. Painkillers are designed to comfort a patient only. Muscle relaxants are suitable only when muscle spasms are present. Muscle spasms aren’t always associated with muscle strain. Physiotherapy and massage are good for some superficial muscles at certain periods of time not too early (acute stage) and not to late (chronic stage). |
